New lease on life for Cintra Park tennis

Mayor Angelo Tsirekas is proud to announce new management for Cintra Park Tennis and Sports Centre.

"I am pleased to share Council has appointed Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG) to operate the centre as part of a lease arrangement," City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

The doors are now open under the current guidelines to play tennis in a COVID safe way both now and into the future at the Cintra Park Tennis and Sports Centre.

"This Concord facility is a favourite for many residents. It currently includes 14 synthetic tennis courts, and is situated alongside key recreation spaces including netball courts, a hockey field, St Lukes Oval, and Concord Oval."

Richard Price, SSMG's Chief Executive who has previously managed Five Dock Leisure Centre, added "I am personally very pleased to be back working in such a wonderful community and SSMG is delighted to be awarded the contract and looks forward to partnering with the City of Canada Bay, Tennis NSW and the local schools."

We will ensure the continuation of services and the centre will provide a range of options including casual bookings as well as programmed activities such as HotShots (Tennis Australia), Cardio Tennis (Tennis Australia), organised social play, evening competition, private lessons, group lessons, table tennis and membership options."

"It is fantastic that residents can continue to enjoy tennis in a COVID safe way during this time, and we look forward to seeing how Sydney Sports Management Group transforms the centre for our active, growing population," Mayor Tsirekas said.

Scott Riley Founder of SSMG and former touring professional stated, "Our Group will be investing a significant amount of capital in Cintra Park Tennis and Sports Centre to improve this iconic facility to ensure it meets the community's expectations for many years to come."
