Soprano Alison Jones and tenor Roy Best will be paying tribute to some of the world's best tenors at next month's Merry Melodies show at the Logan Entertainment Centre.

A musical tribute to some of the world's best tenors will be held at the Logan Entertainment Centre (LEC) in July.

As part of the regular Merry Melodies series, Logan City Council and Promac Productions Australia will present Caruso to Carreras - the great tenors from 10am on Friday, July 5.

The show will star popular tenor Roy Best, soprano Alison Jones and pianist Len Vorster.

Regarded as one of Australia's finest tenors, Best will perform classic hits from singers including Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Mario Lanza, Plácido Domingo, Enrico Caruso and Jose Carreras.

Best is currently guest soloist with the Australian Pops Orchestra and has recorded albums for ABC Classics.

Jones, one of Australia's most versatile sopranos, will perform solos and duets.

Vorster, a concert pianist virtuoso, will provide backing to some of the greatest songs recorded.

These include Be My Love, Nessun Dorma, O Solo Mio, La Donna E Mobile, Granada, Time To Say Goodbye, Strangers In Paradise and Loveliest Night of The Year.

Narrating and compering this new production will be Chris McKenna who will guide audiences through the fascinating story of some of the greatest tenors the world has known and their leading ladies.
