New members appointed to SIRA Board

The NSW Government today announced new appointments to the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) Board.

Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello welcomed the appointments of Mr Rod Stowe and His Hon. Judge Gregory Keatingto the Board and said their extensive experience would be invaluable.

"Mr Stowe has had a distinguished career in the NSW public service spanning more than four decades, including a six-year term protecting citizens and consumers across the state as the NSW Fair Trading Commissioner", Mr Dominello said.

"His Hon. Judge Keating was appointed as Judge in the NSW District Court and President of the NSW Workers Compensation Commission in 2007. He recently announced his retirement from those roles after 11 years of outstanding service to people impacted by work-related injury.

"I am looking forward to working with Mr Stowe and His Hon. Judge Keating on the Board as SIRA continues to improve customer outcomes and performance of the workers compensation system, home building compensation system and the CTP scheme."

Established in 2015, SIRA is responsible for regulating key statutory insurance schemes in NSW. 

The SIRA Board determines the general policies and strategic direction of SIRA and oversees its performance. During the past three years the Board has led significant review, consultation and improvement in regulation of the workers compensation system, home building compensation system and the CTP scheme.

Mr Stowe and Judge Keating join current members, Chair Trevor Matthews, Deputy Chair Nancy Milne, Dr Abby Bloom and Dr Graeme Innes AM who have been recently reappointed, as well as Chief Executive Carmel Donnelly, who is an ex-officio Board member.
