New North Rothbury Ambulance Station Design Revealed

NSW Gov

Communities in the Hunter are being given their first look at the design for the new North Rothbury Ambulance Station which will boost emergency and mobile medical care across the region.

The North Rothbury Ambulance Station is one of five new ambulance stations being delivered in the Hunter region as part of the NSW Government's $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program to bolster frontline emergency services.

The modern, purpose-built station will provide a high-quality workplace for local NSW Ambulance paramedics. It will feature internal parking for up to eight emergency ambulance vehicles, on-site vehicle wash facilities, administration and logistics areas, multipurpose spaces, staff amenities including a gym, and on-site parking.

Construction is expected to begin on the new station this year, following planning approval and the appointment of building contractors.

With excellent access to the Hunter Expressway, the ambulance station is ideally situated to complement the existing ambulance station network and will help meet the growing health needs of the local region.

The NSW Government is delivering 30 new ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Illawarra regions over the coming years.

Across the Hunter, new ambulance stations are also being delivered at Gateshead, Caves Beach, Edgeworth and East Maitland as part of the NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program.

The Minns Labor Government is recruiting 2,500 additional NSW Ambulance staff including 500 paramedics to rural and regional areas, to boost emergency and mobile healthcare for our metropolitan and regional communities.
