New Park And Additional Road Upgrades For Beveridge

Beveridge is seeing new community facilities and important infrastructure upgrades, with a local park now open and more road improvement works underway.

New park now open in Beveridge

Residents and visitors can now enjoy the brand-new park at Templemore Road within the Lyra Estate in Beveridge, officially opened to the public in late July.

Stockland developed this local park as part of its commitment to providing community facilities within the Lyra Estate. It features a range of amenities designed to encourage outdoor activity and community connection.

Facilities include modern play equipment, a pump track, two shelters, a half-court basketball court, picnic settings, seating areas, bike racks, a drinking fountain, rubbish bins, and extensive tree planting to enhance the natural environment.

The park provides a great space for families to gather and enjoy the outdoors.

Mitchell Shire Council welcomes the addition of this community asset within the Shire and encourages everyone to make the most of the new facilities.

Lewis Street upgrade

Works are now underway to upgrade Lewis Street and Whiteside Street in Beveridge, improving access and safety for local residents.

Construction has commenced on Lewis Street south of Whiteside Street and on Whiteside Street itself, including a new roundabout at the Lewis Street and Whiteside Street intersection.

These works are being delivered by developers and are expected to take around 12 months to complete. To maintain access for residents and the community, the works will be carried out in stages.

Once finished, this section will feature upgraded road surfaces and intersection improvements, helping to ease congestion and provide safer, more reliable access for the growing Beveridge community.

In addition, drainage works are continuing on the northern section of Lewis Street. This involves the installation of major drainage infrastructure, including two large pipes through significant rock.

While progress has been slower than anticipated due to ground conditions, the drainage works are expected to be completed late this year. Construction of the northern road section will follow.

Council appreciates the community's patience while these important works are completed and will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
