The City of Kingston welcomes the State Government approving new planning rules for Endeavour Cove in Patterson Lakes.

Council had proposed a range of planning changes in the area, through Planning Scheme Amendment C205 to the Kingston Planning Scheme, which have been the subject of community consultation and an independent planning panel assessment.

The changes cover key issues such as mandatory buildings height controls, updated parking provisions (including a new Parking Overlay), and overall development outcomes, and importantly update the existing controls to bring them in-line with contemporary planning standards.

Mayor Jenna Davey-Burns thanked all the members of the community who have contributed during this long-running process.

"This work originally stemmed from community concerns about planning issues at The Cove and we have been walking alongside our local residents throughout," Cr Davey-Burns said.

"After years of hard work, I am very satisfied where this matter has landed. We are now able to move forward with clarity, certainty, and consistency, which has been our goal from the start."
