New Provider Announced For Hurstville Night Markets

Georges River Council

Georges River Council has appointed The Market Edit as the new operator for the Hurstville Night Markets for the rest of this year.

Council has recently conducted a competitive search for an experienced provider. This provider will host a regular monthly night market at Hurstville Plaza, running from April 2026.

This follows a Council decision to continue the night markets. This initiative supports Hurstville's night-time economy. It also helps strengthen local culture and community life.

The Market Edit has over 15 years of experience managing popular markets in Sydney, like Entertainment Quarter, Barangaroo, Paddington, Fringe Bar, and The Rocks. They offer a strong mix of food, local products and stallholders, and are committed to delivering a lively and welcoming event.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "The Hurstville Night Markets are very popular in our community, so we want them to keep expanding."

"The Market Edit has a strong track record and will bring new energy and quality to the markets," said Mayor Borg.

"We can't wait to see more people enjoying the space, supporting local businesses, and experiencing what Hurstville offers at night."

The Market Edit founder Justin Levy said, "I am thrilled to be bringing a vibrant night-time experience to Hurstville."

"My aim is for the markets to be a lively hub where the local community can come together to eat, explore and connect," he said.

"The Night Markets are also a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses, while showcasing a diverse range of talent across food and design."

The first market will be held on Friday 24 April 2026.
