New Recreation Hub Construction Begins at Mt Atkinson

Works are set to begin on the new Mt Atkinson Sports Reserve in Truganina.

Residents will soon start to see the transformation of a 10-hectare site on Kirkpatrick Boulevard into an exciting new sports and recreation hub for the growing community.

The $19 million project will be delivered by Stockland, on behalf of Council with $2,580,000 funding support from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund.

Features will include natural turf soccer pitches, an AFL size oval, synthetic cricket pitches, practice nets and a pavilion to support sporting and community use.

Landscaped gardens and walking paths have also been included in the design, allowing opportunities for passive recreation.

The project is expected to be complete in 2028.

"I'd also thank the Victorian Government for their contribution towards this project and for their support of our fast-growing community."
