Families on the Frankston Line will spend less time at boom gates and more time getting where they need to go.
The Allan Labor Government has released early designs for a new, modern and accessible Seaford Station.
The project will also remove two dangerous level crossings at Armstrongs Road and Station Street.
It will boost safety and ease congestion by separating trains from the more than 5,000 vehicles that use the crossings every day.
When complete, motorists will save more than 30 minutes of boom gate down time during each morning peak.
The new elevated Seaford Station will open in 2028 - one year ahead of schedule.
The station will be accessible, with entrances, stairs and lifts at both ends to improve connections across the rail line.
New open space will be created under the rail bridges and station, with landscaped areas for the community to enjoy.
New walking and cycling links will connect into the Kananook Creek Trail, making it easier to get around on foot or by bike.
Safety will also be improved across the precinct, with better lighting, sightlines and connections to Station Street, local shops and community facilities.
The designs have been shaped by community feedback and are inspired by Seaford's unique coastal environment. Construction will start next year, with the new station open and the crossings gone for good in 2028.
The Seaford RSL and Seaford Scouts will be retained and remain open throughout construction.
