Western Region Commander, Assistant Commissioner Brett Greentree, has announced the appointment of a new commander to Chifley Police District.
Superintendent David (Bob) Noble took command of Chifley Police District on Monday 27September 2021.
Western Region Commander, Assistant Commissioner, Brett Greentree said he welcomes Supt Noble to the region.
"Supt Noble is a very experienced and well respected commander, who brings a wealth of experience to Chifley Police District," Assistant Commissioner Greentree said.
"He is well known for his leadership and communication skills and will be a fine addition to our region."
Supt Noble joined the NSW Police Force in 1990 and was initially stationed at Lakemba performing general duties as well as Five Dock, Drummoyne, Burwood and Hurstville police stations.
In December 2002, Supt Noble transferred as the lock up keeper at Walgett before being promoted soon after to Sergeant where he remained until 2005.
He was then promoted to Inspector at Lake Illawarra working in operations and projects aimed at delivering policing services for Aboriginal people before he was promoted to the rank of Chief Inspector at Walgett in 2008 as the Officer-in-charge.
In May 2010, he was promoted to Superintendent at Walgett before he transferred in 2013 as commander at Wagga Local Area Command. He later assumed the position of Commander at Riverina Police District in 2018 before transferring to Chifley Police District.
Ensuring the communities safety via prevention focused policing – where police are proactive and always planning ahead to get ahead of those that would like to cause trouble for the good people in the community will be a priority for Superintendent Noble.
"I would also like actively seek ways to minimise harm caused by mental illness, with a particular focus on suicide prevention," Supt Noble said.
"Another focus will be to create and grow an environment where all of our officers can achieve their best, to work safely and in harmony with the broader community."
