New Taylors Lakes Ambulance Station Opens Its Doors

VIC Premier

The Andrews Labor Government is boosting ambulance resources in Melbourne's rapidly growing western suburbs, ensuring paramedics have the facilities and support they need to quickly respond to local emergencies and save lives.

Minister for Ambulance Services Gabrielle Williams today officially opened the new, multi-million-dollar Taylors Lakes Ambulance Station - one of 30 ambulance stations delivered by the Labor Government since 2015.

Located on Kings Road, the new Taylors Lakes Ambulance Station includes a four-bay garage for ambulances, four areas for our hard-working paramedics to rest and recuperate, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking to make sure paramedics are safe.

The location of the new ambulance station on Kings Road allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.

The project was delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) in partnership with Ambulance Victoria and builder, May Constructions.

In addition to the new Taylors Lakes Ambulance Station, there are 11 new or refurbished ambulance stations with shovels in the ground or about to get underway across the state - including in Gisborne, Oak Park, Clyde North, Rochester and Epping - meaning even more paramedics will soon work from the safe and modern home base they need to deliver critical care to local communities.

The Labor Government has committed approximately $249 million since 2015 to upgrade and rebuild ambulance stations to provide better working conditions for paramedics and ensure lifesaving emergency care is available for all Victorians.

As stated by Minister for Ambulance Services Gabrielle Williams

"The Victorian Government is making sure paramedics in Taylors Lakes have the facilities that support them to do what they do best - save lives."

"We know locals rely on the expertise, compassion and commitment of our paramedics. We also know that paramedics need modern workplaces, and the latest equipment to stay safe at work and deliver the best care. And we're proud that this new multi-million-dollar ambulance station in Taylors Lakes has delivered exactly that."

As stated by Member for Sydenham Natalie Hutchins

"Modern and advanced ambulance stations - like what we have delivered in Taylors Lakes- will help ensure families in Taylors Lakes and growing communities in the west receive the best lifesaving emergency care, now and into the future."
