Kingscliff Triathlon is a hugely successful sporting event supported by Tweed Shire Council.
Tweed Shire Council has launched its new online Event Hub – a one stop shop that gives event organisers a clear and streamlined way to plan and deliver safe, sustainable and uniquely Tweed events.
The Tweed Event Hub helps guide event organisers through all things events – from unpacking the Tweed Events Strategy and approval processes, through to explaining event sponsorship options and providing toolkits and resources to deliver sustainable and accessible events.
Developed as a key action of the Tweed Events Strategy 2024–2028, the Hub reflects Council's commitment to fostering a vibrant events calendar that strengthens the local economy, celebrates community and cares for Country.
Council's Manager Destination Communication and Customer Experience, Tiffany Stodart, said the Hub will make a difference to event organisers and the wider community by helping events succeed in the Tweed.
"Events play a defining role in shaping who we are as a region, and the Tweed Event Hub gives organisers a clear understanding of our collective aspiration for events in the Tweed," Ms Stodart said.
"We want events that build a vibrant community, strengthen our visitor economy and help position the Tweed as one of Australia's leading sustainable destinations."
Ms Stodart said the Hub also supports events that showcase the Tweed's hero experiences, create a strong sense of place and balance public amenity with the protection of natural assets.
"The Event Hub brings this vision together in one accessible place," she said.
"By bringing all our event resources together, we're helping organisers create event experiences that leave a positive legacy for the Tweed — socially, culturally, economically and environmentally."
The Hub outlines the event application and approval process and helps organisers through the stages of event hosting including planning, production, promotion and evaluation. It also includes a practical toolkit of user-friendly resources for event organisers.
The Tweed Event Hub is now available online and Council encourages anyone planning events in the Tweed to make use of the tools, guidance and support available. Ongoing feedback from organisers and the community will help shape it into a resource that genuinely helps event organisers to succeed in the Tweed.
