New Water Holding Model Proposed for Basin First Nations

This video introduces the recommended model for Basin First Nations Enduring Water Holding Arrangements. It will enable Basin First Nations Peoples to own and manage water purchased through the $100 million Aboriginal Water Entitlements Program.

The recommended model is informed by what was heard during phases 1 and 2 of the co-design process with Basin First Nations Peoples.

You can share your views on the recommended model through the Have Your Say survey, open until 11.59pm AEDT on Monday 16 February 2026.

Two online sessions will be held on 11 and 12 February. The video presentation will be shown, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and discuss next steps.
