Families welcoming their baby at Epworth Freemasons Maternity can enjoy those first days of newborn bliss in refreshed and modern surroundings, following the completion of an extensive refurbishment of all 34 postnatal rooms.
Each private room features new flooring, an upgraded ensuite, kitchenette, dimmable lighting, a double bed (where clinically appropriate), and a daybed so partners can stay overnight.
Epworth Freemasons Executive General Manager, Jo Goordridge, said it had been rewarding to see the rooms transform in stages over the past eight months.
"This significant refurbishment means families can stay in first-class comfort while receiving the exceptional care that our highly trained midwives, obstetricians and staff are known for," she said.
"Each room is a thoughtfully considered space where mums can rest and recover, and families can create treasured memories of their first days together."
Ms Goodridge said the refurbished postnatal rooms were complemented by a range of offerings that set Epworth Freemasons Maternity apart, including an a la carte menu prepared by dedicated chefs.
"Imagine waking up in the comfort of a spacious and private room, your loved one on the daybed beside you, and ordering a restaurant quality breakfast and coffee – with the peace of mind that you have an entire team of midwives to support you," she said.
"Our hope is that your postnatal stay at Epworth Freemasons Maternity feels more like a 'home away from home' than a hospital."
Families continue to have the option of being transferred to the Park Hyatt for part of their postnatal hospital stay, subject to obstetrician clearance and availability.
