Family history experts to bring the past to life
Experienced genealogists and researchers will share tips and insights to help people uncover their family history at the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct next month.
As part of Queensland Family History Month, the Family History Mini Fair will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, 1 August.
The event will feature displays from Logan City Libraries and guest speakers including local historian Denise Watson from the Homes of Beenleigh QLD history Facebook group and author and historian Coralyn Cowin sharing stories from her book featuring hundreds of local World War I servicemen and women.
One-on-one support will also be available to help people with their own family history research.

New program to provide funding foundation
Logan community groups can build their skills and confidence to access funding opportunities through a new program launched by Logan City Council.
Foundations to Funding includes free workshops, practical resources and support to help community groups, sporting clubs, schools or not-for-profit organisations groups become grant-ready.
The workshops will begin in early August and further opportunities will be offered throughout the year covering topics from understanding grants to writing stronger applications.
