Excitement building as park takes shape

Logan's future Waterford West District Park is taking shape, as construction works enter an exciting new phase.

After months of earthworks, the community will soon see new structures, play areas and pathways appearing above ground.

The $27 million project is being delivered by Logan City Council, with funding from the Australian and Queensland Government through the SEQ Liveability Fund, a commitment under the SEQ City Deal.

When complete, the six-hectare park will include a water play zone, a large adventure playground, picnic and barbecue areas, walking paths and new community amenities.

The project remains on schedule for completion late this year, weather permitting.

CAPTION: Construction works are underway at the site of Logan's future Waterford West District Park.

Intersection works begin

Logan City Council has started work to upgrade the intersection of Homestead Drive, Teviot Road and Glynton Road in Flagstone.

The upgrade is designed to improve road safety and traffic flow as the population of the area grows.

Early works including vegetation clearing, ground investigations and the relocation of essential services started last week.

Main construction works including the installation of traffic lights will begin mid-year.

Further updates will be provided to the community as works progress.

Meanwhile, spray seal works are underway along Teviot Road, including near Graceland Drive in North Maclean, just north of Cusack Lane in South Maclean and from the south of Cusack Lane through to the Homestead Drive and Teviot Road intersection upgrade boundary.

Spray seal works will also take place on Glynton Road in Riverbend, from Margaret Road to the road's end.
