Nicholson Village initiative spotlights local businesses along Carlton North and Fitzroy North strip

People walking along the street and crossing the road via a pedestrian crossing carrying shopping bags. On the side street people are sat outside a cafe at a table and chairs chatting.

Yarra City Council has partnered with the Victorian Government on a new campaign to promote the beloved Nicholson Village, its businesses, and the wonderful people behind them. The strip is located along Nicholson Street on the border of Carlton North and Fitzroy North.

Everyday Nicholson is part of a package of initiatives to support local business and Yarra's economic recovery, delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government through its Metropolitan Partnerships Development Fund.

The campaign profiles individual traders, who in turn pass along their own recommendation for a fellow local business. From there it flows on, creating a thread of community and collaboration throughout the precinct.

The initiative builds on Council's existing economic development and recovery programs, including the successful ongoing #RediscoverYarra campaign and Precinct Recovery Grants, and demonstrates State and local government working together to support local business and on-the-ground economic recovery.
