As part of our Annual Road Renewals Program, resurfacing works will be carried out on Hastings River Drive, between Fernbank Creek Road and Winery Drive (Old Pacific Highway).
The works follow resurfacing completed along Hastings River Drive last year, with the next section now scheduled to be renewed.
Council has engaged contractor CNC Roads to carry out the works.
Works are currently scheduled to commence on Sunday 30 August 2026, between 6pm and 6am, and are expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
What is road resurfacing?
Road resurfacing involves applying a new layer of asphalt to an existing road pavement.
It is used to improve the condition of the road and provide a smoother driving surface.
What to expect
Access along Hastings River Drive will be reduced to one lane while works are underway. Traffic will be managed under traffic control, with a 40km/h speed limit in place.
Road users are asked to follow all signage and take care when travelling through the roadworks area.
Residents will continue to have driveway access under traffic control guidance, except in the immediate area where works are taking place on the day. At times, access to some driveways may be delayed.
If residents or businesses require an essential delivery, please advise CNC Roads in advance so access arrangements can be coordinated where possible.
Some construction noise will be associated with the works. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption where possible.
The timing of these works is subject to favourable weather. Any changes to the program dates will be communicated via the onsite variable message signs.
