AS AT 3pm, 31 October 2020

A series of serious storms have hit the Gold Coast this afternoon bringing hail and destructive winds.

The Ciity of Gold Coast and Bureau of Meteorology is urging residents to avoid travel and shelter in place until the storms have passed.

All Gold Coast Beaches have been closed to swimming due to the swell and conditions.

The Bureau has predicted damaging, locally destructive winds, large and possibly giant hailstones and heavy rainfall for people in Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim and Brisbane City Council areas among others.
