We appreciate the dedication of volunteers across Fairfield City, who generously contribute their time, energy, and passion to support our community They are often the reason so many of our services thrive, from Meals on Wheels and the Community Nursery to our libraries and the Fairfield City Museum & Gallery.
Whether it's guiding young students through history at FCMG, helping deliver meals and providing connection, or growing plants at our Community Nursery at Fairfield Showground, there are countless ways to get involved and make a meaningful impact.
Volunteering is also important for building friendships, learning new skills, and being part of something bigger.
As we approach Australia Day, I encourage you to nominate someone for the Fairfield City Australia Day Community Awards. One of the categories is Volunteer of the Year, but there are also awards for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Sports Achiever of the Year, each recognising the many ways people contribute to our community.
