The search is on for Logan's champions, changemakers and community leaders, with nominations now open for the annual City of Logan People's Excellence Awards.
From artists to sport stars, innovators and environmental warriors, the awards, delivered by Logan City Council seek to celebrate the people making a meaningful difference across the city.
Mayor Jon Raven said the event brings together Logan's most outstanding community members.
"The first City of Logan People's Excellence Awards highlighted the incredible talent we have right here in our growing city," Mayor Raven said.
"Last year we received more than 120 nominations. Our most outstanding community members are often the most humble, so it's important we take the time to recognise them.
"We live among some serious superstars in the City of Logan and it's time for them to shine."
The City of Logan People's Excellence Awards include seven categories that showcase excellence across a broad range of fields, including arts and heritage, environment, innovation, social impact, sport and volunteering.
The prestigious Mayor's Excellence Award also recognises the most outstanding contribution to the City of Logan in the past year.
Lifelong volunteer Gail Harrower was the first recipient of the Mayor's Excellence Award earlier this year.
Gail's life has been devoted to helping vulnerable community members feel valued, particularly through her significant work supporting people receiving palliative care at Logan Hospital.
Gail is the head of Mission Possible, a network of more than 500 volunteers who knit, crochet and sew for local nursing homes and children's cancer charity Camp Quality and the Cancer Council.
"I was proud to receive the award as an individual, and also on behalf of all the incredible people that I work with at Mission Possible," Gail said.
"We don't do what we do for recognition, but if someone in your life quietly makes a difference through kindness and selfless acts that ease the struggles of others, take a moment to nominate them."
Nominations for the 2027 City of Logan People's Excellence Awards are open until December 13, 2026.
Winners will be announced at an invite-only event in May 2027.
