We are proud to introduce a brand-new award category to the Sir John Monash Awards to recognise outstanding achievements made in advancing reconciliation within Monash, lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong people.

The City of Monash is served by amazing individuals who achieve remarkable things. While they give so much to our community, this is an opportunity to give back to them.

Nominations are welcome from the entire community. Nominations from First Nations people are encouraged.

Nominations are welcomed from individuals who have:

  • Made a substantial or ongoing contribution towards Reconciliation.

  • Shown involvement on a personal level or as part of an organisation in activities that promote Reconciliation.

  • Advocated for Reconciliation.

  • Implemented policies and programs which consider the needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community within Monash.

  • Implemented policies and practices that establish a culturally competent workforce.

  • Demonstrated support towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

  • Provide ongoing training for mentoring staff regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
