Nominations are now open for Victorian Protecting Children Awards

Do you know someone who works tirelessly to protect children?

Nominations are now open for the 2019 Victorian Protecting Children Awards.

Anyone can nominate an individual or team either by either submitting a 3 minute video or a written nomination.

The Victorian Protecting Children Awards are a great opportunity to nominate individuals or teams who work tirelessly to protect vulnerable children, young people and their families.

These awards recognise excellence in 14 categories. Eight are open to the child and family services sector, while 6 categories are for DHHS child protection practitioners.

The department encourages nominations from foster and kinship carers, academics, policy, program, supervisory and direct service staff from community, government or academic organisations in the following fields:

  • Child protection
  • Youth justice
  • Out-of-home care
  • Family support
  • Mentoring and peer education
  • Neighbourhood houses
  • Mental health
  • Alcohol and drug services
  • Family violence services.
