Nominations for Mildura Rural City Council's 2026 Youth Awards are now open, paving the way for our community to recognise the achievements and contributions our young people make to our community.

The Awards are open to those aged between 12 and 25 who live, study or work in the Mildura Council area across three categories - Unsung Hero Award, Volunteer Award and Youth Change Maker Award.

Nominations close Thursday 7 August and can be made online at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/youthawards

Youth Council Mayor Leanne Affleck said the awards were an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the positive influence of our region's young people.

"Each year our Youth Awards highlight incredible achievements by young people in our community, their passion and support for our communities is an inspiration for us all," she said.

All young people nominated will be recognised at a Youth Awards Ceremony on Friday, 18 September. They'll also receive an official certificate from Council acknowledging their achievements and/or contribution to the local community.
