Nominations for the 2025 RSPCA WA Animal Welfare Awards are now open, with categories for heroic and caring humans, as well as incredible furry friends.
Online submissions are being accepted for any deserving group or individual working to save animal lives or improve animal welfare, across WA.
Plus, there is a category exclusively for animals who are making a positive difference for their owners or their community.
RSPCA WA Chair Lynne Bradshaw AM said the awards were a chance to spotlight and celebrate animal champions across the State.
"If you know an amazing animal welfare group, a devoted volunteer, or a brave animal rescuer, we want to hear their story," she said.
"These people and groups don't do it for recognition, but it's so important we take the time to acknowledge their efforts –the animals themselves would if they could.
"Shining a spotlight on this work also inspires others to treat animals with kindness and respect."
Mrs Bradshaw said 58 recipients, the youngest just eight-years-old, received gold, silver and bronze awards at last year's ceremony.
"Among the winners were a miniature horse who brings smiles to the faces of nursing home residents, 23 firefighting personnel who were all involved in rescuing animals from house fires, and a woman who had just taken on her 90th foster animal," she said.
The five categories available in this year's RSPCA WA Animal Welfare Awards are:
- Animal Award: Recognising an animal who has made a significant impact on members of the community or their owner.
- Humane Award: Celebrating a person or group of people that has shown exceptional courage in rescuing an animal.
- Youth Award: Recognising an outstanding person under 18 years of age for raising awareness of or working to improve animal welfare in Western Australia.
- Community Action Award: Recognising an individual or group working hard to improve animal welfare in Western Australia.
- Volunteer Award: Honouring an individual who, through their volunteering, has made a significant impact on the lives of animals.
