Nominations have opened for the 2024 Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) Excellence Awards. The awards are an opportunity to acknowledge and recognise staff and volunteers across MLHD who have gone above and beyond in their line of duty.

With a focus on teamwork and excellence, there are nine team award categories up for grabs including a new category for Excellence in Multicultural Healthcare.

Four individual award categories will recognise people who have exhibited special qualities and 'gone the extra mile' in their chosen field of endeavour.

MLHD Chief Executive Jill Ludford says the awards are a great opportunity to showcase not only the exceptional strength, resilience and leadership of staff, but also the innovation and adaptability of teams to tackle obstacles and overcome barriers to continue to deliver top quality services in increasingly difficult circumstances.

"Our teams are embracing opportunities to drive changes to our healthcare models and come up with solutions to improve outcomes for our consumers," Ms Ludford said.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing the nominations this year as they truly do showcase the best of the work that we do across the District."
