Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a bushfire burning between Foulkes Street and Yeppoon Road, adjacent to Norman Road. This fire is posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters are continuing to monitor the fire. Motorists along Yeppoon Road in the area may be impacted by thick smoke and should drive with caution and to conditions. People in Norman Gardens and Parkhurst may also be affected by smoke. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
