North Stradbroke Island near Amity Point - bushfire

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and partner agencies continue to patrol a bushfire burning on the western side of East Coast Road, in an area opposite to the waste transfer station, North Stradbroke Island. The fire is burning safely within containment lines and there may be localised smoke impacts. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep their medication close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews and partner agencies are on scene at a bushfire burning on the western side of East Coast Road, in an area opposite to the waste transfer station, North Stradbroke Island. Firefighters are conducting backburning operations to strengthen containment lines and there may be localised smoke impacts. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep their medication close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
