NOTICE: The Little Things

The Little Things aims to start a conversation about breaking down gender roles and respectful relationships.

This is a national ABC Open project, inviting everyone to share a story about times when they have felt like they can or can’t do something because of what gender they are.

The Little Things project is supported by the Department of Social Services as part of Stop It At The Start campaign.

We're looking for people to:

  • Write about the little things that people have said or done to you because of your gender, and the impact that had on you. For example: Boys don’t cry, girl's should be soft and caring, that’s a girls job, boys play sport…
  • Write about a time when you have felt like you should do, or can’t do, something because of your gender.
  • Share your written story (about 300 words + a picture) at the Little Things ABC Open project page
  • Or contribute your story via Instagram using the hashtag #abclittlethings
