Notification of road name proposals

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 163 of the Roads Act 1993 and Part 7 of the Roads Regulation 2018 for the proposals for the following road names:

SUBURB - Dalgety

PROPOSAL NAME - Quarry Lane

DESCRIPTION

This road will start off another new road under construction - see road name proposal for Riverbend Drive below. Quarry Lane will start approximately 750 metres along the new Riverbend Drive, 750 west of Hickeys Road from a point on Hickeys Road 640 metres south of the Carawatha Road instersection.

Quarry Lane will run south southwest from its start on the proposed Riverbend Drive for approximately 200 metres.

NAME ORIGIN

This road will be a private road providing access to proposed lots being created in the current stage of an approved subdivision.

The name calls back to local geographical features, in this case being the quarry that is accessed to the south of Dalgety off Hickeys Road near the Snowy River. This is in keeping with the proposed Riverbend name, with naming to be based on well-known local geographical features and locations.

SUBURB - Dalgety

PROPOSAL NAME - Riverbend Drive

DESCRIPTION

Riverbend Drive will begin from Hickeys Road, starting 640 metres south of the Carawatha Road intersection with Hickeys Road, running approximately 1700 metres in west to northwest directions until meeting the Snowy River Crown Land corridor at E6547891.8 N4059838.4 GDA94 Z55.

NAME ORIGIN

The name has been proposed based on the local geography with particular reference to its finishing point near the apex of a pronounced bend in the Snowy River.

The location is expected to be locally used as the road will provide a public access point to the Snowy River Crown Land corridor a short distance south of the village of Dalgety.

These proposals will remain on public exhibition and open for submissions for twenty-eight (28) days, ending Wednesday 29 December 2021.

Submissions relating to these proposals should be made in writing to Chief Executive Officer Peter Bascomb by mail or email to PO Box 714, Cooma NSW 2630 or [email protected]
