NRL Telstra Premiership puts focus on fans

The NRL and its partners have developed multiple innovative activations to bring fans inside closed stadiums for the resumption of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

The initiatives have been designed to ensure NRL Members and fans' presence are still felt inside the stadium, on-screen and online until the crowds can return.

The NRL has launched "Fan in the Stand", providing fans the opportunity to take their seats within the stands and be one of only a few hundred people to 'watch' their team play live, from inside the stadiums.

For just $22 plus GST, NRL Members and rugby league fans can have their photo printed on a 100% recyclable cut-out and placed in their team's current home venue.

NRL Head of Marketing Peter Jarmain said while fans currently can't attend matches, they can definitely still be a part of something truly unique.

"We wanted to make sure the lifeblood of the NRL, our members and fans, had the chance to pull on their jerseys, don their club colours and support in a really fun way," Mr Jarmain said.

"I know the players and clubs will appreciate the support, even if the fans aren't able to shout, celebrate and jump around for the tries and hits as they usually would."

The initiative will kick off in stadiums this weekend before the concept ramps up with more fans able to take part in round four.

A $1 donation will be made from every purchase towards the *Gotcha4Life Foundation.

Just like a regular match-day, music will be played throughout breaks in play to provide greater atmosphere in venues and will be used to help to punctuate key moments throughout the match. A number of players have also selected specific tracks to be played should they cross the tryline across the weekend.

A host of NRL partners including Chemist Warehouse, Harvey Norman, KFC, VB, Wolf Blass and rebel, have supported the relaunch of the NRL Telstra Premiership with a host of great offers to help fans support their team, and enjoy the live broadcast.
