NSW covid situation growing out of control

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the state recorded 633 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday - the largest daily total ever recorded in the state despite the state-wide strict lockdown. Three people with COVID-19 have died.

"What the data is telling us in the last few days is that we haven't seen the worst of it," Ms Berejiklian said.

"There were 633 cases of community transmission and at this stage there are at least 62 of those that were infectious in the community during that time."

The new deaths included a male in his late 60s and two males in their late 70s.

NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant described the  the concerning situation in regional NSW.

There’s been a case in Bourke, some exposure in Wilcannia, fragments detected in Bathurst, Orange and Yamba.

"So again we ask that the communities be particularly vigilant."

Meanwhile, the NSW government continues to play the blame game: delta variant, Western Sydney, NSW residents, light fines, etc. everything and everybody are at fault. The premier is clean, right, and perfect.
