NSW Health advise of Covid case in Blue Mountains

We have been advised by NSW Health that a person, who has now been diagnosed with COVID-19, attended Springwood Aquatic and Fitness Centre on Tuesday, 9 November.

NSW Health are contacting those who attended the centre on that day, via the Service NSW app. These people are being asked to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested if they feel unwell. NSW Health are not providing the time of day the person visited.

Council has undertaken cleaning of the centre and have been advised we should not close the facility.

Only those who are fully vaccinated are currently able to visit the centre, due to the Public Health Order. The person who visited the centre on 9 November, who is fully vaccinated, may have been potentially infectious at the time they visited, but NSW Health consider the risk of contraction to be low.

Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill said: "My heart goes out to the person who has contracted COVID-19 and those who are close to them. This is a strong reminder that the risk of COVID-19 is still with us."
