NSW latest coronavirus data as at 31 July

Twenty one new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8.00pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,567. One previously reported case has been excluded.

There were 25,318 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 27,147 in the previous 24 hours.​

Of the 21 new cases:

• ​two are linked to the funeral gatherings cluster
• three are associated with the Our Lady of Lebanon cluster
• two are associated with the Thai Rock Wetherill Park cluster
• six are associated with The Apollo restaurant in Potts Point
• two cases are associated with the Mounties Club
• two are returned travellers in hotel quarantine
• one case was acquired in Victoria
• two are under investigation
• one case is linked to a known case that is under investigation.

NSW Health can advise the Everlearn Childcare Centre in Prestons will be reopening, after a suspected case has subsequently tested as negative. The Centre will resume normal operations on Monday.

Based on new information, NSW Health has revised the times that cases while infectious attended the Mounties at 101 Meadows Road Mt Pritchard. Anyone who attended the club during the following times must isolate and get tested regardless of symptoms, and stay isolated for a full 14 days even if they test negative. If symptoms develop, get tested again.

• Wednesday 22 July - 7pm to midnight
• Thursday 23 July - 12.01am to 3am and 8.30pm to midnight
• Friday 24 July - Midnight to 3am, 11am to 3:30pm and 7pm to midnight
• Saturday 25 July - Midnight to 3am

Anyone who was at The Mounties on any of these days at other times should also watch for symptoms and immediately isolate and get tested should even mild symptoms occur.

There are now 94 cases associated with Thai Rock Wetherill Park, 57 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster, eight cases associated with Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, and 23 associated with the funeral events and three associated with Mounties in Mount Pritchard. There are 19 cases associated with the Potts Point cluster.

We all ​need to keep our family and loved ones safe. To help stop the spread of COVID-19:

• If you are unwell stay in, get tested and isolate
• Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out
• Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others
• Wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance

Anyone directed to undertake a 14-day self-isolation period must stay in isolation for the full period, even if they test negative. This is because early testing may not detect an infection, and release from self-isolation based on a negative test could allow an infectious person to infect others in the community. The self-isolation period is 14 days as most people who are infected and develop symptoms will develop symptoms within 14 days of infection.

There are 102 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. Eight people are in intensive care, with four being ventilated. Eighty nine per cent of cases are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.

NSW Health undertook a time-limited survey to measure the recovery status of patients with COVID-19 three weeks after the onset of illness, by interviewing the case. Cases reporting resolution of all COVID-19 symptoms were considered to have recovered. Cases who had not recovered at three weeks were called in the following weeks until recovery. NSW Health has suspended this survey while focussing on the recent increase in community transmission of COVID-19. ​
