NSW Man Charged for Perth Airport Disruption

A New South Wales man was scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today (28 January, 2026) charged over alleged disruptive behaviour at Perth Airport.

The AFP responded to a request for assistance from airline staff at Perth Airport yesterday (27 January, 2026) after a man was removed from a flight to Sydney before take-off because of his alleged intoxication.

After the man, 31, was removed from the aircraft he allegedly verbally abused airline staff and acted aggressively.

The AFP attended and removed the man from the airport; however, he allegedly returned a short time later and was issued a move on notice.

When the man allegedly verbally abused officers, he was charged with one count of fail to comply with an order given by an officer, contrary to section 153(1) of the Criminal Investigation Act 2006 (Cth).

The maximum penalty for this offence is 12 months' imprisonment and a $12,000 fine.

AFP Acting Inspector Gabby Adam said workers, law enforcement and the public deserved to always feel safe on planes and around the airport precinct.

"The AFP has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to any kind of anti-social behaviour on a flight or anywhere inside the airport," a/Insp Adam said.

"Officers work closely with airline partners and will intervene if anyone's behaviour interferes with the safety of workers or the public in or around an airport, or on flights."
