NSW man charged over school hoax call

A man is due to appear in court today after allegedly making a hoax bomb threat to a school in Sydney’s south earlier this week.

On Tuesday 28 July 2015, a man allegedly called a school at Botany and made a hoax threat.

The school was evacuated and emergency services attended, conducting an extensive search of the school before it was rendered safe.

Police from Botany Bay Local Area Command conducted investigations and determined the call had originated from the Botany area.

About 6pm Friday, a 34-year-old man was arrested at a home in Botany.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with use carriage service to make hoax threat and public mischief.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
