NSW man charged with weapon and drug offences on state's Central Coast

A man will appear in court today over alleged weapon and drug offences, following a vehicle search on the state’s Central Coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 3.15pm today, officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command were patrolling Blackwall, when they approached a green Ford Falcon parked in a service station car park on Memorial Avenue.

Police will alleged a search of the vehicle resulted in methylamphetamine, scales, a knife, a baseball bat, ammunition and an action rifle being located.

All items were seized for forensic examination.

A 26-year-old man in the vehicle was arrested at the scene and taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with possession of a prohibited drug, custody of a knife in a public place, possession of ammunition without a licence, and custody of an offensive implement in a public place.

The man was refused bail, to appear at Gosford Local Court today tomorrow.
