NSW man seriously injured after being struck by car

Police have commenced inquiries after a man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car at Port Kembla, NSW Police say.

The man, believed to be aged in his 80s, was crossing O’Donnell Street when he was hit by a Toyota utility just after 6.30pm today.

Emergency services attended and the man is being airlifted to St George Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command have established a crime scene.

The driver of the car, aged 20, wasn’t injured but has been taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Inquiries are continuing.
