NSW Ministers visit to Cabonne region

minister visit.jpg

It was great to have NSW Government Ministers Jihad Dib MP - Minister for Emergency Services and Paul Scully MP - Minister for Planning in Cabonne over the last two days.

The Ministers were able to hear from locals impacted by the floods, tour some of our impacted towns, and get a better understanding of the ongoing work being undertaken to recover from the events of 13 and 14 November 2022.

Unfortunately, the Ministers did not make any funding commitments on their visit.

Council, in conjunction with Philip Donato and Andrew Gee MP are continuing to fight for funding from both the NSW and Federal Governments to support our communities recovery - as was outlined in the Cabonne Recovery Plan.

Most critical is funding around a resilient housing package and a community assets program.

We are now 9-months into recovery. Whilst visits and photo ops are important, our communities deserve some certainty to help them plan their future.
