NSW police appeal after aggravated break and enter near Lake Illawarra

Police are appealing for information following an aggravated break and enter at a home near Lake Illawarra early this morning, NSW Police say.

About 12.45am today, a 41-year-old man and his partner were at a home on Freeman Parade, Mount Warrigal, when they heard loud banging at the front door.

Police have been told the man went to investigate when he saw a number of males out the front yelling, before they threw objects at the front windows, smashing them.

One of the males, unknown to the couple, entered the home and a physical altercation ensued between the male and the 41-year-old.

A second male was then involved in a physical altercation with the man from the home, when he then became involved in a second altercation with a man outside the premises.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were called; however, most of the unknown males fled the scene.

Two men were arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and released pending further inquiries.

The man in the home suffered minor injuries; however, did not require treatment.

As police continue their inquiries, anyone with information or any witnesses are urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
