NSW police charge man after allegedly speeding 195km/h in 80km/h zone

A man has been charged after he was detected allegedly travelling more than 115km/h over the sign-posted speed limit in Sydney's south west today.

About 10:50am (Monday 25 February 2019), police from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected a motorcycle allegedly travelling at speeds of up to 195km/h in a sign-posted 80km/h zone along the Camden Valley Way, Catherine Fields.

Officers stopped the motorcycle and spoke with the rider, a 29-year-old man.

The man, a Brazilian National, was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.

His NSW driving privileges have been withdrawn and his motorcycle has been seized.

The man is due to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 12 March 2019.
