NSW police probe collision between car and train - Moorland (near Taree) - UPDATE -

Police from the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision on the state’s Mid North Coast today, NSW Police say.

Just after 11am today, emergency services were called to Henry’s Lane, Coraville Road, Moorland, following reports a car and freight train collided.

The 30-year-old female driver, and her three children, aged two, six and seven were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

All passengers in the vehicle were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, with the seven-year-old and the two-year-old suffering serious injuries.

The mother and her six-year-old daughter also injuries but at this stage are not considered life threatening.

The family is local to the area.

The driver and co-driver of the train were treated for shock and were taken to Manning Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
