Police are investigating a ‘glassing’ at a restaurant in Byron Bay last weekend and have released images of a man who may be able to assist them.
About 8.45pm (3 September 2016), emergency services were called to a restaurant on Lawson Street, Byron Bay, following reports of an assault.
Police have been told an unknown male assaulted a 55-year-old man at the premises.
The 55-year-old man was treated for injuries by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and was taken to Byron Bay hospital. He has since been released.
A crime scene was established and initial investigations suggest the man was hit in the head with a glass.
As part of the investigation, officers from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command seized CCTV.
Police have released an image of a man who they would like to speak to; who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 30-years-old with a solid build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved green shirt.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
