NSW Police Probes Damage to Transport Infrastructure

An investigation is underway after transport infrastructure was damaged in Sydney's Inner West, resulting in significant rail delays.

About 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 16 August 2023) police were called to Brown Street, Ashfield, following reports of malicious damage.

Officers attached to Burwood City Police Area Command attended and were told cables in a railway signal box had allegedly been cut and equipment damaged.

Following inquiries, two men - aged 47 and 33 - were taken to Burwood Police Station where they are assisting police with inquiries.
