NSW police release CCTV following assault near Maitland

Police have released CCTV images in an appeal for information following an assault in the Maitland area last week, NSW Police say.

Just before midnight on Friday 11 August 2017, police have been told a 43-year-old man was assaulted by two men on Lawson Avenue, Beresfield.

He suffered fractures to his jaw and was taken to Maitland Hospital. The man was later transported to John Hunter Hospital for surgery.

Police attached to the Central Hunter Local Area Command have released CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The men depicted in the images are described as being aged in their late teens to early 20s with a medium build. In the images they were wearing dark hooded jumpers and shorts. They are also shown riding skateboards.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
