NSW Police Seize Drugs, $240K in Auburn Vehicle Stop

Auburn Police have charged two people after police located drugs and over $240,000 cash during a vehicle stop in Sydney's southwest.

Around 4pm (Wednesday 23 August 2023), officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were patrolling the Lidcome area as part of an ongoing investigation, when they stopped a Toyota Corolla travelling on Joseph Street.

Police spoke with the driver and sole occupant – a 25-year-old woman – before searching the vehicle where officers allegedly located and seized $241,600 in cash stored in a safe. They also seized cocaine and a knife.

The woman was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station.

Police subsequently executed a search warrant at a home on Bachell Avenue, Lidcombe, where they seized an amount of cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and Valium.

The resident – a 28-year-old man – was arrested and also taken to Auburn Police Station.

The woman was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime greater than $5000, supply prohibited drug, and custody of a knife in a public place.

She was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 14 September 2023.

The man was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug - indictable quantity, supply prohibited drug, and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 24 August 2023).
