The Minns Government is inviting communities across north-western Sydney to provide feedback on design elements of the new Rouse Hill Hospital to ensure it meets the healthcare needs of the region.
After the Coalition promised and failed to deliver the hospital at three elections, early construction is now progressing on the $910 million project, with community consultation shaping how people use and experience the hospital.
The NSW and Commonwealth Governments are partnering to deliver the new public hospital, which will become part of Western Sydney Local Health District's health service network and support the growing healthcare needs of the northwest Sydney communities into the future.
The hospital will include new comprehensive birthing and maternity services, boosted by an additional $210 million committed by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments on top of the $700 million previously announced towards the project.
The new hospital will be located on the corner of Commercial and Windsor roads, steps away from Rouse Hill Metro Station and on the doorstep of Rouse Hill Town Centre.
Community members are encouraged to take part in a new survey to help shape key design elements throughout the hospital to support enhanced experiences for patients, visitors, carers and staff.
Feedback is being sought on areas including the future retail services, accessibility, wayfinding, parking, amenities, information points and signage, and community safety features.
The local community is encouraged to attend information sessions to meet the project team and learn more about how to have a say:
- Thursday, 16 April, 4.00pm to 6.00pm, Rouse Hill Town Centre outside the Vinegar Hill Memorial Library
- Saturday, 18 April, 10.00am to 12.00pm, Tallawong Village, near the main entrance
The community survey can be completed online and supporting plans and information are available to view at https://www.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/rouse-hill-hospital/rouse-hill-hospital-design-consultation. Feedback can be provided until 11:59pm on Friday, 1 May 2026.
Community feedback will be considered alongside expert clinical advice to shape the hospital's final design features.
Lendlease has been awarded the contract for early works, following a competitive tender process and the first stage of construction work is well underway to prepare the site for the new hospital.
The State Significant Development Application for main works construction was placed on exhibition in late 2025, and a Response to Submissions Report was published in February this year. This planning application is in its final stages of determination by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The main works construction contract is expected to be awarded later this year.
The Minns Labor Government's 2025-26 NSW Budget included $1.3 billion of additional funding to support the delivery of health facilities and services across western Sydney including:

- $40.1 million to fit out level 13 of the new Paediatric Services Building at Westmead in partnership with the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation
- $22.3 million to establish a new paediatric hospice at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Other projects in the western Sydney region include upgrades at Nepean, Liverpool, Canterbury, Fairfield, and the new Integrated Mental Health Complex at Westmead.
