NSW SES deploys communication equipment to support bushfire affected communities

A NSW SES satellite communications (SATCOM) trailer has been deployed to the South Coast to support the safety of communities impacted by severe bushfires.

This asset is key part of the NSW SES's Deployable Communications kit, enhancing our operational mobility. The SATCOM trailer provides a satellite internet connection to support emergency services as they respond to communities in areas without reliable phone or internet coverage.

The trailer has been set up on the South Coast to support communities that have been devastated by the recent bushfires.

A team of specialist volunteers from the Operational Support Unit has been deployed along with the trailer and are working alongside volunteers from the Wireless Institute Civil Emergency Network (WICEN).
