NT Covid update 26 February

The Northern Territory is today reporting the death of a woman in her 80s from Alice Springs related to COVID-19.

She had underlying health conditions and passed away at Alice Springs Hospital.

There have now been 21 COVID-19 related deaths recorded in the NT since the start of the pandemic.

There were 632 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 8pm on 25 February 2022. Of these, 566 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

There were 409 cases recorded in the Top End region, 93 in Central Australia, 24 in East Arnhem, 29 in the Big Rivers region, 35 in the Barkly region and 42 are under investigation.

There are currently 98 patients in hospital, with 16 patients requiring oxygen. There are seven patients in ICU.

The number of active cases in the NT is about 4,835.
