The Northern Territory has recorded 60 new cases of COVID-19.

11 cases are community transmission16 cases are interstate arrivals18 cases are close contacts of previous cases15 cases are under investigation

Ten cases of community transmission are in Darwin and one is in Katherine.

Four cases are linked to the NT outbreak, bringing the total case count for the cluster to 167. One case was infectious while in the community.

These new cases are from Tennant Creek and have generated a number of close contacts. One person went to Elliott and contact tracing is underway.

New public exposure sites in the NT have been identified and are now available on the NT COVID-19 website here. It is important all people in the NT regularly check the COVID-19 website to review the list of exposure sites.

There are currently 24 people with COVID-19 in hospital. No COVID-19 patients are in ICU.

2,757 COVID-19 tests were processed across the NT yesterday.

It is important all Territorians and visitors get tested for COVID-19 if showing any symptoms such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, change in taste or smell and a sore throat.

COVID-19 testing sites are open in Nhulunbuy, Katherine, Darwin, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. Testing is also available at NT Health clinics in remote communities.

NEW CLOSE CONTACT DEFINITION

Following the National Cabinet meeting yesterday, the NT is adopting a revised definition of a close contact being as someone who lives in a household with or is an intimate contact having spent four or more hours with a COVID-19 positive person.
